What is my purpose for being here?

That question stopped me in my tracks in 2015. It hasn't let me go since.

I'm Rose Barros. I founded Living Soil Aruba in 2023. But this story started long before that — in a restaurant that never opened, in a schoolyard that everyone said was too dry, in a cancer diagnosis that handed me the only question that actually matters.

The answer was soil. Community. The next generation. The next 7 generations.

Seventeen food forests later. Four hundred+ trees in the ground. Three thousand two hundred children with their hands in living soil every year. In schoolyards, orphanages, shelters, on government land. Across this mighty island.

The knowledge is already here. The people are already here. The work is already being done.

Living Soil Aruba is what I built. 

Living Soul is what I am becoming.
